About the evan turner foundation
The Showcase has been born from a decade-old tradition of getting talented student-athletes in front of college scouts. The annual event was conceived as a way to help players earn college basketball scholarships.
In 2016, NBA star and Chicago native Evan Turner lent his experience and resources to help grow the event, giving kids a chance not only to play ball for a day, but the opportunity to attend college for free and build a successful life.
Since 2009 over 2500 young men have played in front of more than 1000 college coaches and over $60m in scholarships have been awarded.
Our event is truly one-of-a-kind, as it is the only free showcase in the Columbus area, thus making it accessible to players with college potential regardless of their financial situation.
about the showcase
The goal of this 1-day event is simple: to connect unsigned athletes with available athletic scholarships.
The idea is straight-forward: put the city’s best unsigned seniors together in a gym for a day of games, and give college coaches from across the country an opportunity to evaluate them and offer scholarships.
